Transition Pieces

I have begun to shop for transitional pieces to take me from winter to spring. Unfortunately it is still really cold where I live, so I am specifically looking for pieces that are a little heavier but have a “lighter” look and feel to them. This shirt was the perfect blend of both. I also love the fun sleeves! The sleeves are honestly to me what makes the top so cute!

You can shop all of these pieces by scrolling to the end of this blog entry and clicking on any of the pictures. But I also really wanted to share with you quickly today how I read my Bible. This is certainly not the “ONLY” way to read your Bible. I struggled for years wondering how to read the Bible and actually get something from it. Instead I would read devotionals and get inspirational thoughts from other people. But about 15 years ago, I really wanted to begin digging for myself, and began truly reading straight from God’s word. And then approximately ten years ago I began to journal, and to keep a HEAR journal much like I am going to share with you today.

The HEAR journal method is simple and straightforward. The word HEAR is an acronym for Highlight, Explain, Apply, and Respond. I could explain each one, but this picture explains each step perfectly.

This method helps me so much, because one, my mind does not wander as much when I’m using this method, and two, I don’t forget what I read when I journal like this! There’s something about writing things down that help you to remember content easier! Here’s an example of one of my readings lately.

And that’s all there is to it! Like I said, it’s simple and straightforward, and really helps you to search the Scriptures and attempt to understand and apply what you’re reading and learning. Hopefully this helps if you have been struggling on how to approach your quiet time! Thanks for reading! Happy Monday!!
